Entering Primary 3, 4, 5 or 6, comes with many new academic demands especially in the subjects of Mathematics and Science. The upper primary Math and Science curriculum can be demanding, with the introduction of new concepts, new skills and higher expectations in the area of assessment. It sounds stressful!
We are here to help. With deep knowledge and professional experience in primary school education, our education experts at Ignium Academy will be conducting an important talk for parents on how to help your child succeed in upper primary Math and Science!
Our experts are Joseph Lim and Teo Lay Leng. Joseph has close to 20 years of school experience as a teacher, Head of Department and Principal (previously Principal of Maris Stella High School). His last posting with MOE was Cluster Superintendent where he oversaw 12 schools mainly in the Bishan area, including RGS, RI and Ai Tong School. Lay Leng is a highly experienced Mathematics and Science teacher, curriculum designer and author. She started teaching in MOE primary schools in 1992 before becoming a full-time Mathematics and Science trainer. She has coached over 1000 primary school students to great academic success. Last year, one of her PSLE students scored 281. Lay Leng has also authored a series of Science assessment books widely used in top schools.
